Once again, the Texas spoke was busy this past week. I want to encourage all Texas spoke subscribers to send me updates on any Christian Cycling activity you are involved in. That includes riding as well as anytime you are shining you light for Jesus. If you post on the Christian Cycling Facebook page or group page, I will harvest from that most of the time.
From Deana (Belton and Harker Heights Area): We set out for a short 8 mile ride, with beautiful Temps and a little wind. As some of you already know, we enjoy riding toward the goal of finisher medals lol. We are currently riding a Transylvania Challenge on Conquoror app, and last night we passed a "post card stop" and learned a little about the Transfagarasan Highway, and got a cool glimpse of it thru phots on the app, I shared the pictures and fun facts pictures Its a 231 mile challenge and we have 62 miles left to go! Praise God!
Our first challenge on that app was 23 miles and we thought we were never going to get there, and now we are about to complete 231 miles and thanking God every day that we choose to honor God with our bodies, and He is faithful to give us strength to push thru and get healthier and stronger. (Also from Deana – Sunday the 15th) Doraine Chirco and I rode a little further than the guys, Dustin Connell and Nick Scooby worked on Dustin's tire, Blue has an injury--he needed a tube transplant and a new valve stem replacement-- so they doctored him a little then loaded him up in the bike-bulance (haha like how I mixed bike and ambulance haha) and Doraine and I rode a little further and they came to us. It was a new area, and a new adventure. Blue needs to have a derailer-ectomy we think, but thankfully it's not life threatening for Blue.
From Monty (Gatesville) I was blessed to have Robert Gonzales Jr. (Waco/Woodway) come to the house this morning. I had waffles ready when he arrived and then we headed to Fort Cavazos to ride the hills.
Ya’ll keep Robert in your prayers. He has been in the hospital since last Friday with a serious kidney infection.
Christian Cycling - Texas has a new subscriber this week! Derrick is also on the Texas Map as a POC in east Texas. WELCOME and God bless you brother! (Click on the Texas Map link to find to closest rep to you)
Derrick riding
I will be getting to meet Derrick on the 24th of this month. I am looking foreward to handing him his welcoming packet from National as well as visiting for a bit.
(Also from Monty- Gatesville) Pink Diamonds Breast Cancer Awareness Ride is in the books. It was good to get to meet Jim Boland (Farmersville) and his coach Bonnie Boland. Another blessing was to meet all of Art Garcesa’s (North Dallas/LIttleElm) family at rest stop two.
I got to visit with Thomas Goes and David Bridgewater at rest stop one.
Thomas and friends at SAG station #1
I also got to meet Maria Alejandra Muñoz at rest stop one.
It was a pleasure meeting you sister.
It is always a pleasure and a blessing to make new friends in person. Mark D Cooks came by after we finished the race and visited for a couple minutes. He made this short video with us.
From Art (LIttle Elm) Duncanville, TX: This past Saturday October 14th
Our members had a great time both supporting and riding the Pink Diamons Breast Cancer Awareness Ride this past Saturday at Duncanville, TX. We would like to thank our brother and member Mark D Cooks for coordinating and putting this ride together.
The Pink Diamonds Survivors of Cancer (SOC) is a 501c3 founded to provide financial assistance to non-profit agencies and organizations delivering services and support to individuals living with breast and other cancers. The ride included Parkland's Mobile Mammography unit onsite and many vendors. We are very blessed to support this great cause and look forward again to next year's ride.
Our spoke director Monty Van Horn and brother Jack Carmicheal Thompson drove up from Gatesville and joined our North Texas members Maria Alejandra Munoz, Jim Boland, Pepe Grajeda, Rafael Diaz de leon, Thomas Goes, David Bridgewater, Art Garcesa and Family.
Christian Cycling - Texas supported two main rest stops for the ride with Thomas Goes, David Bridgewater, and friends from Team Avaya at one stop while Art Garcesa & Family setup at the Cornerstone Bible Church.
Once again, another week of life has gone by. My prayers are that you enjoyed it and made memories. Go our this week and make memories as well, and share them on our Christian Cycling – Texas group page so I can harvest the info. God bless ya’ll
