Christian Cycling Texas members had a busy week. Monty (Gatesville) did some solo training on Fort Cavazos and encountered some cows while on a 39-mile ride. Then on the 23rd of September, he was out riding the hills on Fort Cavazos again, and found out there was a big race going on! Over 250 riders were riding in a championship ride. Monty enjoyed his 46-mile ride at his own pace.

Cows on Cavazos

Deana (Belton) reported that her and Dustin went on a shorter ride then they had planned as the heat took its toll. Deana shared with all that we have to stay in the saddle or be prepared for a harder ride than expected.

Sherry (Gatesville) let us know that she did squeeze in almost 12 miles on the 21st and was winded more than she thought she should be. She hadn’t ridden in a while and it doesn’t take long for us to regress in our state of conditioning.

Jim Boland (Farmersville) posted this: Summer is over, it's fall in Texas, because for today's ride only 96 degrees at Sister Grove Mountain Bike Trail.

Trail calling us to ride

He says, The Trail is in great shape, go ride!!!!!! Jim also posted this: Chaparral Trail Gravel Bike Ride on the NETT,  Farmersville,  TX.   Trail looking great and great weather. I am looking forward to meeting our new member very soon.

Art Garcesa (Little Elm) posted about his ride at the Big Dam Bridge 100.

Little Rock AR:  Earlier today. We just had one of the best rides of the season.   Please join me in congratulating our brother Ryan Hochdorf, who completed his first BDB100.  He has done many centuries before but this one is special with all the climbing and work. The BDB100 is Arkansas' largest cycling rally and is used to promote health and cycling in the state of Arkansas.

On the 24th of September, Art, Thomas and others got together for a farewell ride with Holland. Here is the post:

White Rock Lake Texas:  Earlier today.

We had our farewell ride and get together for Holland Clarke (not on FB lol) earlier this morning.  We had coffee, breakfast, and one short loop around the lake - then we cooked burgers lol.  Big thank you to Maria Alejandra Muñoz for bringing the bagels and coffee.

Holland works for Amazon who is relocating him to the San Jose area.  We prayed with him for safe travels and for the Lord's blessings in the next chapters of his life.

He will be back for HH100 and other rallies.  We also plan on joining him in the triple bypass next year as well as other century rides in CA.

Also, Jack posted this after his ride to church on the 24th: Rease Thompson and I rode 17 mile ride on our E-Bikes today. Rode from our house to church, then back to the house. To God goes all the Glory!!

We did have another sister getting in some dirt therapy in east Texas but I didn’t get her blessing to harvest from her post.

I am always glad to add any members activities on our weekly blog. Just let me know when you post something.

We also had our first Facebook group room meeting with some of the area representatives and it went well. We will be having them more often to stay in touch with what is going on in each other’s areas.
