Our brother, Art Garcesa, in Little Elm, Texas participated in the Cotton Patch Challenge this Saturday, the 17th.
The Cotton Patch Challenge is a ride that was started in 1996 by local cyclists and is now held by the Greenville Rotary Club which has become, according to their website, a major source of funding for charities and children across Hunt County Texas.
The ride is very resourceful and has several stops and SAG supported and provided by local Scouts Troops, Fire Departements, local business, and religious organizations.
With multiple routes from 74, 61, 40, and 26 mile routes, this has made the Cotton Patch Challenge become a favorite rally in North Texas by cyclists across the state of Texas. The scenery is exceptional, specially for the long distance riders going across the 2 mile bride crossing Lake Tawakoni.
About the photo, this is from Art. "Feeling very blessed to be able to ride and finish the Cotton Patch Challenge in Greenville TX today. I've had the pleasure to meet Pastor Upchurch and staff from the Vansickle Baptist Church supporting and cheering on cyclist at the finish line as well as providing full range of refreshements and electrolytes, . Thank you so much for your support for this ride and for the community."
Next Saturday we will have ChristianCycling folks represented at The Big Dam Bridge 100 and the Waco Wild West 100!
