Here is our latest blog and it is only a fraction of what we have been doing across the state of Texas! If you are interested in riding for Jesus and like what you see here, look at the Texas Map for your closest area rep. If you find no one close and are interested in joining us contact me.
28 April - from Dustin Palmer - Today, Beth and I completed our cycling trip into Austin and brought the name of a fallen officer to to the Peace Officer Memorial… and it was a fantastic way to end our weekend spent on two wheels.
People always seem to cheer us on when we get to the Capitol but in the 3 years I’ve done this, I tend to feel the reason of why we are there punch me right in the gut. This isn’t just another bike ride and though I may never feel the “weight of the badge” in my profession, I definitely feel the weight of the bike on events like this one.
Many thanks to the Texas Peace Officers Memorial Ride for hosting another successful event in 2025 and for allowing Beth and I to be a part of it
Attached are a couple of photos of my wife Beth and I riding 150 miles this weekend to honor the life of Officer Vicente Ortiz Jr. from Corpus Christi PD. End of Watch June 1st, 2024.
Pictured are my wife and I with Elizabeth Ortiz, which is Vicente's sister, at the Texas Peace Officers' Memorial in Austin, TX.
28 April - the MS150 is in the books for 2025. Here is a short video of the weekend. We are looking at doing the MS150 Round Up next year, that way we can join Alan in Muenster the weekend before! That sounds like a plan!
This years video (I know, I make one every year)
28 April - Alan Trammell (Lindsay/Gainesville Area rep) - The 45 ANNUAL METRIC CENTURY BICYCLE RALLY in Muenster Texas last Saturday was a great event. 850 riders. Weather held up cloudy, cool and breezy- no rain!!
Christian Cycling provided 600 water bottle and 1000 stickers for the rider goodie bags. Riders had nice comments about the bottles. I got to ride with four Christian rider friends.
The event is a difficult 62 mile loop with lots of climbing. Muenster to Forestburg to St Jo to Bulcher and back to Muenster,Texas. Ride finishes in the Germanfest event park while Germanfest is in full swing. . Live German Music and good German food!
Hey Alan, we are looking at riding the MS-150 Round Up next year which leaves the Germanfest open! I am looking forward to the fellowship and the German food!! See ya there next year.
28 April - sent in from Ray Pittman (new subscriber from Argyle Texas) - Good morning Monty. I did make it to Muenster this past weekend. I had to get back home quickly so only a short ride was in order. So I did the 35K. There were about 800 riders I believe. I met 3 other members from Christian Cycling. One has joined like in the past month or so? (Steve who lived in Dallas). And I met a Father/Son from Aubrey. The wind was not a factor this year…. Maybe 10 mph. The hills were still there! This might have been the best ride I've ever been in…in terms of cyclists being considerate of each other. Very encouraging. A quick stop at Fisher's Meat Market and back home to Argyle for a number of Honey Do's. (Thanks for the email brother!)
28April - David Brookins and his son at the Muenster ride.
26 April - from Thomas Goes - Go ChristianCycling, with Coppell Cranks.
26 April - from Jim Boland - Thanks to all that participated in the Annual Celebration of National Rails to Trails Day on the Chaparral Trail Section - NorthEast Texas Trail . Awesome turnout and thanks to all the riders, walkers and joggers.
Special thanks to the Parks and Recreation Board, the City of Farmersville, City Officials, Members of the NETT, Chaparral Trail Officials, Sugar Hill Adventures, Hustle, Christian Cycling-Texas and all the vendors who made this a great day.
The biggest thanks goes to Coach Bonnie Boland who again maintained tent security, explained about the NETT and Christian Cycling-Texas all morning.
I can not wait to ride this trail!!
25 April - Monty - This morning, I was getting a cup of coffee at about but after 7. Ethan VanHorn says, "Heh dad, you think we got time to watch a movie, just you and me?" What could I say to that!?! I told him sure but pick something out that was 1.5 good or less since Jack Carmicheal Thompson and Nicky Thompson would be picking me up soon after that. We watched Smokey and the Bandit. Tammy cooked breakfast so I had some eggs and bacon while watching the movie. Whohoo. Jack and Nicky arrived and after loading up the gear and bikes, Tammy prayed over us and we headed out. We picked up Teddy Bruski in Cove and arrived at the Trek shop to get our packets. We checked in to the hotel and then went for a walk. On the way back we stopped at a 7 eleven store and picked up a late lunch. I got some pizza and a diet coke. We took the food back to the hotel and ate. Then we put the labels on our bikes and gear. John Borrego, our El Paso representative, met us at the P.Terry's burger king at 5PM for supper. It was great to meet John in person. Art Garcesa and David Bridgewater arrived at our hotel about 7:30PM to get their packets. We visited for nearly an hour. I'm looking forward to my third consecutive MS150 here in Austin. You can check out the photo album here.

Thanks to Coach Bonnie Boland for her usually great job being at the Christian Cycling-Texas hospitality tent from 7 AM until 2 PM. She greeted, served and answered questions about Christian Cycling for many riders so we could ride the
Tour de Cypress Bike Ride Mount Vernon Texas today.
19 April - from Jerry Bolin (Garland Area rep) - Great ride at Tour de Cypress today!
All those smiles!
19 April - Lonnie and Kathy Sutton - Abilene Area reps - The Suttons rode the 30 mile route at the Tour de Cypress.

16 April - Monty - This morning, I took off for Storms in Hamilton for my last training ride for the MS150. Tammy Estes Van Horn and Ethan VanHorn met me there for lunch and then I rode home. The wind was a killer heading home.
13 April - from Monty - This morning, Jack Carmicheal Thompson and I were up and eating breakfast at the hotel by 0630. Actually, we were ready before that but the hotel "Cafe" didn't open until then. We parked the car in the parking lot right across the street from the hotel and it only cost $6.75 until 4:39PM we found other parking lots fur a much as $50 a day! We walked to the starting line from there and ran into Mickey and RJ again! This time, I got a picture of the happy couple from Temple. There were over 3,000 riders! The 43 miles was a breeze today and I rode it nonstop. The ride home was the hardest part, being tired and ready to take a nap is not a good combination but Jack did a great job. You can check out the photo album if you like.
Me (Monty) and Jack
12 April - from Art Garcesa - We had a very blessed day today at the Bike The Bluebonnets in Ferris, TX. This is our 3rd rally of the year as we roll into a busy schedule of 3-4 rallies a month from April to the end of October. To God Be The Glory!
12 April - from Jerry Bolin - We attended the Bluebonnet Ride today, what a beautiful day! Bertha and I did not see anyone we knew until Forrest came by on his way to the restroom. After the ride was over when we were back at the car Kevin rode by and came back to join Bertha, Forrest, and me at the car. We were all disappointed at the lack of bluebonnets. At the usual pic stop there were practically none and no one was stopping. Of all the times I've done this ride I carried my phone in my shirt pocket to take pictures and there was none! After the ride we saw Art, Fabian, and David from Christian Cycling. While eating a snack with Kevin, Forrest, and Bertha, Richard Wilkes sat down with us for a short time. Did not see anyone else we knew. Overall a great ride, a great day!
Jerry and Bertha
10 April - email from Alan - MONTY,
Looks like you all are continuing to be real busy and doing really good stuff!
Riding has been good for the past few weeks here in Linday. Doing longer, and more intense rides preparing for the Stampede 200 race in Fredericksburg, Texas on 29 March 2025.
This is a RAAM event and part of Texas Hell Week. The race is 200 miles with two 100-mile loops with about 11,000 feet of climbing. Riders are self-supported with only three provided water stations @ 50 miles, 100 miles, and 150 miles.
Will be riding with a team we put together of 5 riders. (TEXAS Velo STOUT). One rider is a future son in law,- VERY YOUNG! and the others are 300+ mile 24-hour time trial seasoned riders. One of the riders completed RAAM on a team. I will need a large portion of Father's grace to stay with them.. They ride way out of my comfort zone for sure.
Did a 134 mile ride last week with 5000 ft climbing and did ok.
Not sure what I will do this year for Muenster Metric Century Bicycle Rally April 26, 2025. Thinking about bottles again.
You all keep up the good riding and witness!! Be blessed and healthy! So awesome to be part of Christian Cycling.. Alan
(Just reading this makes me want to ride further and longer! I am soooooo much younger!! Keep rolling for the Lord Alan!!)

Posted by Jack 22 March - Reese Thompson , Christy Gibson and myself arrived at The Riverside/ Kiwansa Kids Fest at approximately 8am. We had an hour till ride time. So I went to work take Rease's trike and my bike down from the racks. With the bikes on solid ground we went over to check in and Megan helped me. Christy and I (Jack) pictured together in front of the sponsors sign. Soon after, we all got up on the starters line, getting another Megan to take our picture there! Along the way at one of the rest fun stops we spoke to Trinadad and Eveon who met in church, fell in love and got married and just recently celebrated 8 blessed years together, they are also pictured together in the album The route was beautiful, the morning g cool!! It was a short ride but a blessing indeed. When we got to t h e finish line we enjoy some pizza and soda and watched my nephew Theo play at the kids fest!! I passed out about 25 Fire Ant Cards to some very excited sounding riders. Thank you Lord for another blessed ride!
