We had Christian Cycling folks riding all over and here is a write up of just a few.
On the 19th of August at White Rock Lake, the North Dallas area had a 100 mile training ride for Hotter N Hell Hundred coinciding with the Dallas Hot Trot 2023 marathon in honor & memory of officer David Sherrard. We were blessed to be able to meet his surviving sister and mother. Christine (bib 4095) took a break at our tent while on her way to the finish line and to wait for her mother Margaret (bib 4094 pictured - taken from Mark Sherrard's FB page). Christine sat with us for a few minutes and we prayed with her before she continued on with her mother.
After our 40 mile break - Sumit, Fabian, and I continued on. Sumit K Jain completed his 100miles and Fabian Broncano completed his 60miles. T.I (recently invited to the FB group but we did not get pictures with him.) was able to complete 50miles in the scorching heat. Our brothers and sisters; Kurtis Register, Allan Tobias, Gilbert Sumba, and Gerald Bolin and his wife joined us for awhile later in the day.
During the hot day, we were able to provide at least 80 bottles of cold water and also 10 gallons of water that were in the coolers in addition to the 60lbs of ice to keep them cold. It was very hot and draining.
Overall, it was a successful day. We had helped our members and friends completed their rides, we were able to provide cold water to foot and bike traffics. But best of all, we had several folks asking questions about our ministry and where they can send donations. I pointed them to Christiancyling.org.
We have been very blessed to have the opportunity to help and provide to others - specially on very hot days like these. We will continue to do this until the fall - combining our scheduled training rides at the lake and providing service to others.
Also on the 19th, Dustin and Deana (Belton area reps) went on a eleven mile ride near their home.
Finally, Monty, Tammy and Ethan went on a fifteen mile ride for some family fellowship and to visit with a church member about to join Jesus.
